Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, documenting observed activity and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and public areas, verify authorized entry when required, and assist with directing foot traffic, answering questions, and supporting orderly operations during routine activity and/or special events.
• Support emergency and non-emergency response efforts by following post orders, contacting supervisors and/or first responders, and helping occupants follow site protocols during alarms, evacuations, and other unusual situations.
