About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer assigned to a recycling yard in the Bronx, New York. The role provides a dependable weekly anchor shift at an assigned site, with a six-month commitment to that schedule. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform and can increase their hours up to 40 per week, with the option to scale back. The position pays $23.50 per hour and is scheduled for Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Security Officer provides customer service while carrying out security procedures, site policies, and appropriate emergency responses. The officer patrols industrial and surrounding areas, monitors access and visitor activity, responds to incidents, and documents and communicates security-related information.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation, consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license only if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and with a problem-solving approach to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of industrial work areas, facility grounds, perimeter areas, entrances, and parking locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and report unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Accurately document incidents, patrol observations, and security-related activities, and communicate pertinent information during shift handoffs.
