Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, operational areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor and control access to the location by verifying authorization, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing individuals in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
  • Complete accurate reports, patrol logs, and incident documentation, and communicate relevant security-related information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
