About The Position

Allied Universal is Hiring Flex Officers for Hospital Locations in Wexford, Monroeville, Clairton, Pittsburgh, etc. This is a Full-Time position with a pay rate of $19.00 per hour, offering up to 40 hours per week, including weekends. Reliable transportation is required. The role involves safeguarding a high-profile healthcare customer, requiring surveillance of the premises and protection of staff, members, and visitors. The Hospital Security Officer detects and prevents suspicious activity, observes and reports incidents, and provides customer service professionally. Officers may be required to assist nursing staff with patient restraints (proper training provided) and escort nursing staff to the hospital morgue with deceased patients. Multiple vaccinations are required prior to working on site, including two-stage Tuberculosis screening, MMR, Varicella, and Tetanus screenings. A child abuse clearance will also be submitted. Allied Universal officers are paid weekly, and uniforms and equipment are provided at no cost. Excellent benefits and career progression opportunities are available, along with paid training.

Requirements

• Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations
• Be at least 21+ Years of Age
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
• Frequent walking/standing required (indoor/outdoor)
• Moderate technological usage required
• Multiple vaccinations are required prior to working on site (company paid) including: two-stage Tuberculosis screening, MMR, Varicella, Tetanus screenings (TB testing instructions provided at orientation)
• Child abuse clearance will be submitted at orientation
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Post offer, must be able to successfully complete the training requirement and obtain a Management of Aggressive Behavior certification

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals
• Orally and physically de-escalating individuals, as needed
• Inspect all security devices and fire control equipment
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite their admittance to the facility
• Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgency
• May also include patient escort, patient watch, provide safety escort, assist and/or transport deceased to morgue
