Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support residents, guests, and staff through outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a shelter setting.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report relevant details to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, noting unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor resident and visitor movement in accordance with site procedures, assist with access control activities, and document daily activities, incidents, and/or maintenance or policy concerns.
• Support a respectful and professional environment by providing directions, answering questions, and communicating clearly with residents, staff, first responders, and/or Allied Universal personnel as needed.
