This role involves providing safe and effective services, adhering to policies related to safety and boundaries, and attending required training. The officer will monitor and ensure safety through regular patrols, checking for security violations, securing areas, and reporting maintenance needs. Responsibilities also include investigating and reporting incidents, communicating with the police department, investigating alarms, assisting with severe weather warnings, executing evacuation plans, and rendering routine security assistance. The role requires responding to emergency calls, confronting unauthorized personnel, completing security reports, and announcing emergency drills. Additionally, the Security Officer will maintain building access by greeting visitors, completing check-in procedures, and ensuring adherence to visitor policies. This position also involves performing receptionist duties, directing visitors, acting as a point-of-contact for building maintenance, enforcing the 'Tobacco Free' Campus policy, and scheduling safety drills. General administrative and clerical duties are also part of the role.
