That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader. As a Security Officer in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role involves a Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”) for a designated site and weekly shift, requiring a six (6) month commitment. Additionally, employees can earn more through the “Claim-A-Shift Program” by picking-up extra shifts through a scheduling platform, allowing for increased earnings and experience across multiple sites. This enables working part-time hours one week and full-time the next, as desired. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or 5 or more years of armed security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a Level III Armed Certification for Texas only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Meet licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, shoppers, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and communicating with local law enforcement when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location, including sales floors, parking areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, as assigned.
  • Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, and/or unauthorized access in order to help to deter theft, disorderly conduct, and other security-related concerns.
  • Assist with access control, closing procedures, and/or special coverage needs during busy business hours, deliveries, or high-traffic periods.
