About The Position

Securitas is seeking professional and dependable Event Security Officers to help create safe, enjoyable experiences at concerts, festivals, sporting events, and other special events in Newport News, VA. Open Interview Dates & Times Monday, May 11: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 12: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM Wednesday, May 13: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Interview Location: 12350 Jefferson Ave, Suite 160 Newport News, VA 23602. Security Officers/Security Guards observe and report activities and incidents at assigned client sites, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of security experience, law enforcement experience, or military experience required (no exceptions).
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be open to working weekends, event coverage, and mandatory overtime (as needed).
Must have reliable transportation.

Security positions require passing a drug screen and background check.
Must be able to meet and continue to meet applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers/Guards.

Responsibilities

Observe and report activities and incidents at assigned client sites.
Provide for the security and safety of client property and personnel.
Frequent sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
May include climbing stairs, walking up inclines, and navigating uneven terrain.
Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
