Security Officer CPR Certified Patrol
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed patrol Security Officer to support a public transportation location in San Jose, California. The officer will help safeguard passengers, employees, visitors, and facilities by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, responding to concerns, and providing customer service. The role is scheduled for daytime hours from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and pays $22.83 per hour. The position involves working at a site with limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks. The officer will follow site-specific policies and established protocols, document activity and incidents, and request assistance when appropriate.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for an unarmed role.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment.
- Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit stations, platforms, parking areas, administrative buildings, and surrounding perimeters.
- Help identify unusual activity and deter unauthorized access through patrols and a visible presence.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, following established protocols and requesting additional assistance when needed.
- Monitor access points and observe pedestrian and vehicle activity.
- Report suspicious behavior, property concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications according to company and site requirements.
