About The Position

Citadel Security USA is seeking a professional and approachable Unarmed Security Officer to support daily operations at a public library in Glenwood Springs. This position focuses on maintaining a welcoming atmosphere while helping promote the safety and security of library visitors, staff members, and facility property. The ideal candidate is customer-service oriented, attentive to their surroundings, and comfortable interacting with people from a wide range of backgrounds. This role serves as a visible security presence and plays an important part in supporting a positive environment for all library guests.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in public-facing environments
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining awareness of surroundings
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities

Responsibilities

  • Welcome visitors and provide a professional first point of contact
  • Assist patrons with general questions and direct them to appropriate staff when needed
  • Maintain courteous and respectful interactions with library guests, employees, and vendors
  • Support a positive environment through professional communication and conduct
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the facility to help discourage disruptive behavior
  • Observe activity within public areas and identify potential safety concerns
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common-use spaces during operating hours
  • Report suspicious activity, policy violations, or security concerns to library management and supervisors
  • Conduct routine walkthroughs of designated library areas
  • Identify hazards, maintenance issues, or conditions that may impact visitor safety
  • Assist with managing access to restricted areas when necessary
  • Help ensure library rules and facility guidelines are followed appropriately
  • Complete activity logs and incident reports accurately and promptly
  • Document unusual occurrences, safety concerns, or interactions requiring follow-up
  • Communicate relevant information to supervisors and designated site contacts
