As a Security Officer Full Time Credential Verification in Long Island City, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a professional, welcoming environment. You will maintain a visible presence, respond to security-related concerns, and provide outstanding communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors at a government transportation regulatory location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, issue visitor passes as directed, and maintain accurate entry and exit records.
  • Control access to restricted areas, receive and direct visitors, and communicate access-related concerns to appropriate site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and escalation protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, public areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
