As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond professionally to security-related concerns. Requirements

  • Possess at least two years of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access to government facilities, verify credentials as required, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and access-control concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and applicable procedures.
  • Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports, and communicate relevant information promptly with site representatives, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership.
