As a Security Officer Entry Control Part Time in Palmyra, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a residential community, you will help create a welcoming environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access, and supporting residents, visitors, and vendors with exceptional customer service. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate clearly, document security-related activity, and help deter incidents while representing Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor access points, verify visitor and vendor authorization, issue access credentials as directed, and maintain accurate entry and incident documentation.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to identify and report unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Communicate professionally with residents, guests, contractors, and Allied Universal leadership regarding access concerns, policy violations, and/or site-related incidents.
