About The Position
The Security Officer maintains a safe and secure environment by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, and enforcing security policies. This role helps prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access while ensuring the safety of Hillcrest Hospital South patients, visitors, staff, equipment, supplies, facilities, and hospital contents.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid CLEET Armed Security Officer
- Valid Driver’s License
- IAHSS Basic level (within 6 months of hire)
- BLS (within 60 days of hire)
- CPI (within 90 days of hire)
- Maintain annual firearm and handcuffing certification
- OC gel spray certification
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of security experience
- Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with patients, visitors, staff, contractors, governmental agencies, and vendors
- Ability to confront adverse and potentially hostile situations and resolve tactfully and safely
- Skill and ability to make quick decisions and apply safety and security knowledge in emergencies
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
