About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol in Gary, Indiana, to provide security services at a financial institution. The role offers a designated site and fixed weekly shift as a reliable base schedule, with a six-month commitment. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with opportunities to work up to 40 hours per week and the option to scale back.

The position pays $18.58 per hour. The listed schedule is Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM. The role involves armed patrols, access control, customer service, incident response, and documenting activity in accordance with site-specific procedures and applicable laws.

Requirements

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and customers at a financial institution by following site-specific security procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency-response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of banking areas, offices, parking facilities, ATM locations, and the exterior perimeter.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and document visitor activity, unusual conditions, and incidents according to site policies.
• Maintain a professional armed presence while following applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and client procedures.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
