About The Position

As a Security Officer Part Time Patrol in Bronx, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a shelter location.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the building, common areas, entry points, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to the location by observing visitor, staff, and resident movement, reporting suspicious behavior and/or policy violations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Document daily activities, incidents, and/or observations in required logs and reports, and communicate relevant updates during shift changes.
