As a Security Officer Access Control in Harrisonburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support site operations through visible presence, routine patrols, and clear communication. Requirements

• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and/or vendors by following site-specific procedures, verifying credentials, and supporting access control activities at the location.
• Monitor entry and exit points for people, vehicles, and/or deliveries, help to deter unauthorized access, and maintain required logs, records, and/or reports related to security-related activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts, supervisors, and/or emergency responders when appropriate.
• Support traffic flow at gates, docks, and/or designated access areas by checking identification, directing arrivals, and documenting visitor, carrier, and/or shipment information according to post procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, with attention to access points, loading and unloading areas, and other key locations where working conditions may vary by site.
