As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Access Verification in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government transit location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. You will engage with employees and visitors, provide exceptional customer service, and communicate observations using computer or tablet tools. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to transit riders, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, bus stops, and surrounding perimeters to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate emergency services and transit personnel as needed.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, assist with directing passengers and visitors, and provide information regarding site rules and procedures.
  • Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific reporting requirements.
