About The Position

Allied Universal is currently hiring a Part Time Security Officer for a bank in Dorchester, MA. This role offers a fixed Saturday shift from 1 PM to 9 PM, with the option for additional shifts. The starting pay is $22.85 per hour, with paid orientation and training. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to supplement their income, gain experience, or work towards a full-time career. The role provides reliable, consistent hours with the flexibility to earn more by picking up extra shifts through a scheduling platform. Candidates can work part-time hours one week and full-time the next, with the ability to scale back when needed. The position requires a six (6) month commitment to the designated site and weekly shift.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including entrances, parking areas, hallways, waiting areas, and perimeter points, helping to identify unusual activity and/or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and help to follow visitor, delivery, and after-hours entry procedures in accordance with location policies and healthcare environment expectations.
  • Support a professional atmosphere by providing directions, assisting with general inquiries, and communicating clearly with staff and visitors regarding security-related policies and/or incident response steps.
