About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed Security Officer for an assigned site in Purchase, New York. The role provides a fixed, reliable weekly schedule, with a required six-month commitment to the designated site and shifts. The officer may also claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and the option to scale back. The position supports security at a cultural institution and involves customer service, patrols, access observation, incident response, and reporting. The listed pay range is $18.77–$19.77 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Commit to the assigned site and weekly anchor shifts for six months.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Licensing may be required before employment depending on state or local requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and guests while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities appropriate for a cultural institution.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of galleries, public areas, staff spaces, entrances, exits, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor visitor access and activity around exhibits, collections areas, and restricted locations; report unusual conditions, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to site leadership.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, follow site procedures, and contact emergency services when appropriate.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, including patrol observations, incidents, and interactions with visitors and staff.
