About The Position

Northeast Security, Inc. is seeking Security Officers for part-time weekend shifts in Boston & Cambridge, MA. Founded in 1967, Northeast Security has become a leading security services firm in New England, known for its adaptability and commitment to safety. This role involves responding to emergencies, patrolling various locations in all weather conditions, and utilizing technology to monitor security systems. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to pass pre-employment screenings.

Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy is required, working in MS Windows, Outlook, and One Note.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Security experience.
  • Constant foot patrol and monitoring outdoors in all weather conditions for the majority of the shift.
  • Required to respond to emergency situations to patrons with Quality of Life issues such as homelessness and addictions.
  • Required to write incident reports.
  • Able to remain alert and active with majority of the shift on foot.
  • Able to deescalate irate tenant/customer calls/access requests.
  • Excellent computer skills utilizing multiple screens.
  • Neat and professional appearance.
  • Dependable means of transportation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English (both written and verbal).
  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to successfully pass ALL pre-employment background and drug screenings.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency situations in person.
  • Be outdoors during all weather situations to monitor, patrol, and respond to threats/emergencies.
  • Use modern technology to monitor a variety of alarm signals and respond/dispatch security personnel.
  • Notify the proper authorities.
  • Answer incoming lines.
  • Work individually and as a team to respond to incidents.
  • Review security footage and conduct investigations of incidents.
  • Remain calm and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Patrol and monitor multiple premises to detect any irregularities, suspicious behavior, or security breaches.
  • Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity.
  • Communicate with local law enforcement units and fire departments as necessary.
  • Conduct foot patrols of the premises.
  • Write detailed reports on incidents that occurred on the premises daily.
  • Maintain proper use, completion, and submission of all forms associated with patrol activities and/or duties.
  • Respond to requests for assistance and evaluate appropriate courses of action.
  • Comply with all requirements/directives within the on-site operations manual/post orders.
  • Assume other duties as required by either Client or Northeast Security, Inc.
