About The Position

Citadel Security USA is seeking an experienced Field Training Security Officer to provide overnight leadership and hands-on mentoring across residential apartment communities in the Fort Collins area. This position is responsible for helping newly hired officers successfully transition into their assignments while reinforcing company standards, safety procedures, and quality service expectations. Rather than working exclusively at one location, this role supports multiple sites by coaching officers in the field, monitoring performance, and helping maintain consistent security operations. Candidates who enjoy developing others and leading by example are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
  • Previous professional security experience.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and support new employees.
  • Professional report-writing and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability.
  • Ability to successfully pass required background screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience serving as a Field Training Officer, Lead Officer, or Security Supervisor.
  • Experience in residential community or apartment security.
  • Bilingual communication skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic reporting and workforce management software.
  • Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor newly hired Security Officers during field training assignments.
  • Demonstrate proper patrol techniques, reporting procedures, and post responsibilities.
  • Reinforce company policies, client expectations, and site-specific procedures.
  • Provide constructive coaching to help officers build confidence and perform independently.
  • Identify training opportunities and communicate progress to leadership.
  • Conduct routine patrols of assigned apartment communities on foot and by vehicle.
  • Monitor common areas, parking lots, exterior grounds, and building access points.
  • Help maintain consistent service standards across multiple client locations.
  • Support supervisors by reinforcing operational expectations during assigned shifts.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or property damage.
  • Respond professionally to incidents, disturbances, and resident concerns.
  • Promote a secure environment for residents, visitors, contractors, and property staff.
  • Follow established emergency procedures and client post orders.
  • Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation.
  • Maintain regular communication with supervisors regarding officer performance and operational issues.
  • Document field training progress and identify additional development needs.
  • Utilize company reporting systems and mobile applications to record patrol activity.
