About The Position

Security officers are responsible for maintaining the overall security of a property. They use various tactics to prevent theft, vandalism, and damage. This role may involve patrolling in a vehicle, maintaining records of entry/exit, monitoring deliveries, and assisting guests with information and directions. Employees also protect the property and its inhabitants from fire risks and other safety violations. They respond to emergency situations by communicating with emergency personnel and potentially handling physical threats. Additionally, they may maintain parking regulations and ensure parking lot security. A security officer must be aware and alert at all times, constantly being aware of risks and concerns.

Requirements

Knowledge of State or local governmental safety requirements.
Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques at a proficient level.
Professional customer service skills.
Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and a team player.
Interpretation and completion of verbal and/or written instructions at a proficient level.
Time management and time-critical prioritization skills.
High School Diploma or GED Required
0 - 3 years of directly related or closely related experience
Guard Card Required

Nice To Haves

Direct experience is highly considered.

Responsibilities

Respond to alarms and emergency situations.
Make periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
Greet incoming guests and tenants, providing information regarding the site and surrounding area as requested by visitors.
Guard and monitor premises to prevent theft, property destruction, violence, or rules and safety violations.
Perform fire prevention, safety, and maintenance tasks, and parking/traffic enforcement.
Other duties as assigned.
