About The Position

As a Security Officer in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government services location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will contribute to a welcoming environment through professionalism, teamwork, and integrity while supporting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and agency partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, building entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and maintain awareness of activity involving residents, visitors, deliveries, and contractors.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and emergency responders when needed.
  • Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
