About The Position

Citadel Security USA is seeking dependable Unarmed Transit Security Officers to support evening operations serving the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) in Aspen. This position focuses on promoting a safe, welcoming environment for transit operators, employees, passengers, and members of the public while maintaining a visible security presence throughout assigned locations. Successful candidates are professional communicators who enjoy working with the public and can confidently address safety concerns while delivering outstanding customer service.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional customer service experience.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed during challenging situations.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining situational awareness.
  • Successful completion required background screening.

  • Previous experience in security, customer service, public transportation, hospitality, or public safety.
  • Experience working in environments with frequent public interaction.
  • Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities.
  • Familiarity with incident reporting and security documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a visible security presence aboard transit vehicles and at designated transit facilities.
  • Help foster a safe environment for drivers, transit employees, passengers, and visitors.
  • Observe daily operations and report suspicious activity, unsafe conditions, or policy violations.
  • Monitor boarding areas, transit stops and surrounding public spaces.
  • Interact respectfully with passengers while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Offer assistance and general guidance when appropriate.
  • Help encourage compliance with transit rules and operational policies.
  • Support a positive experience for community members utilizing public transportation.
  • Conduct routine patrols of assigned transit locations.
  • Respond professionally to disturbances, safety concerns, or security-related incidents.
  • Notify supervisors or emergency responders when situations require additional assistance.
  • Follow all client procedures and company post orders.
  • Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation.
  • Record security observations, unusual events, and operational concerns.
  • Maintain regular communication with supervisors throughout each shift.
  • Protect confidential operational information while exercising sound judgment.
