Requirements

  • High School or GED General Studies
  • Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement or military service or one (1) year experience as a Security Officer
  • Security Guard: CA
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days
  • Driver's License: CA, within 30 Days

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in security/patrol in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and supplies, including of radios and hospital codes.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor buildings and grounds on the property to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients, and other visitors.
  • Monitor the property by walking and driving around the premises.
  • Guard facility and unit access points.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras.
  • Test new security technology.
  • Protect all employees/visitors against acts of violence should they arise.
  • Respond to emergency codes in a timely manner.
  • Protecting staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner. Calls may include incidents such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, or to emergency codes, and requests for opening doors.
  • Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed; and report unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigate security breaches, conducts investigations, and writes incident reports.
  • Ensures that all activities are logged.
  • Ensures that incident reports are accurately completed, clear, concise, legible and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing hospital campus to ensure that dispatches are to right location.
