The Security Officer maintains security protection which includes money transactions, public relations, crowd control, performing command center functions, assisting guests, customers and team members as needed to maintain order; provides administrative support to the Security Supervisor; and performs related tasks within the area of assignment. This position spends a majority of on-duty time standing and/or walking in public areas of the property, including but not limited to, the gaming pavilion, restaurants, meeting spaces, rooming areas, parking lots, and grounds. Must be able to effectively and efficiently transverse stairs, uneven surfaces, varied flooring surfaces and ground coverings while patrolling, responding to calls for service or emergency situations. Must be able to identify and quickly respond to potential problems, altercations and conflicts and defend self and others in combative situations. Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs, move money boxes, carts and drop equipment as necessary. Must be able to assist sick or injured guests and/or employees. Ability to communicate courteously, effectively, and professionally with guests, outside contacts and all levels of employees. Must be able to use tools and equipment, including but not limited to, keys, handcuffs, flashlights, radios, computers and other tools specific to the position. Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed. May drive company vehicles at times. Ability to perform duties under varying conditions, including but not limited to, exposure to varying levels of crowds, noise, and changing weather conditions.
