As a Security Officer - Full Time - Afternoons in Waterloo, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license, offering the opportunity to support daily operations with strong customer service, communication, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 19 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all visitors, employees, and/or contractors by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and other security-related policies at a manufacturing and industrial location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, loading zones, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials when required, and document daily activities, incidents, and/or maintenance concerns according to post instructions.
  • Support emergency response activities by following site procedures, assisting with evacuations or restricted access during incidents, and reporting security-related concerns in a timely manner.
