Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, staff, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, as assigned.
  • Help to deter unauthorized activity by monitoring access points, checking for unusual conditions, and reporting maintenance, behavioral, and/or security-related concerns.
  • Support a respectful environment by assisting with directions, answering questions, and communicating with staff and/or emergency personnel when needed.
