As a Security Officer - Full Time - 1st Shift in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a manufacturing and industrial location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor visitor and employee access, and report security-related concerns. You will maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents while delivering outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to industrial facilities, construction areas, and restricted locations by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and issuing access badges or passes as authorized.
• Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, perimeter, entry points, parking areas, and restricted work zones to help identify unauthorized access and security-related concerns.
• Maintain clear and accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
