Job Description As a Security Guard - Full-Time Walking Patrol in Philadelphia, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting an educational campus environment. You will conduct routine foot patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication. You will greet students, staff, and visitors with professional customer service while documenting observations and assisting with access control and campus procedures. Bring integrity, teamwork, and a people-first mindset to every shift.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, staff, families, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of hallways, entrances, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points, assist with visitor check-in procedures, and help direct guests to authorized areas in accordance with site policies.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical events, and/or fire and intrusion alarms, and coordinate with site leadership and emergency services as needed.
- Document patrols, incidents, and security-related observations in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate relevant updates to supervisors and site contacts.
