About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer for an educational facility in Northport, New York. The officer will help safeguard the campus by maintaining a visible presence, conducting patrols, supporting access control, and providing customer service to students, staff, visitors, and other community members. The position is scheduled Monday through Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at a rate of $23.12 per hour. The role includes site-specific training and access to a platform for viewing and claiming additional shifts. Employment is contingent on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Applicable licensing requirements may need to be met before employment.

Requirements

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and other campus community members while following site-specific procedures and security protocols.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of educational buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas, identifying and reporting unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and visitor activity according to location procedures, directing people to appropriate offices or areas as needed.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and follow emergency response procedures.
Prepare clear, accurate reports and activity logs covering incidents, observations, and security-related concerns.
