Security Officer
About The Position
Maintains a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, visitors, and families by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry. Obtains help by sounding alarms. Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; and preventing trespassers. Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses. Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls. Maintains organizations stability and reputation by complying with company policies and procedures, state licensure requirements, and JCAHO standards. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturers instructions; trouble shooting malfunctions; and informing the maintenance director and director of operations of any problems. Acts lawfully at all times in direct defense of life or property. Acts as a consistent presence to deter criminals. Reports any suspicious/unusual occurrences to authorities and management. Patrols premises randomly and regularly, including buildings and perimeter. Monitors alarm systems and video cameras.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent
- Work experience as a security officer or other relevant position
- Basic computer skills necessary for reporting and communications
- Willingness to comply with all laws and institutional regulations at all times
- Current TB test
- Valid drivers license
