About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Flex Patrol Driver to safeguard clients across a range of industries. The role provides hands-on experience in diverse work environments and opportunities to develop skills and pursue advancement within the security industry. The position is based in Bloomington, Minnesota, and involves performing patrols on foot or in a vehicle.

The position offers 30–40 hours per week. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments vary regularly, combining manager-assigned shifts with shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Officers may be assigned irregular shifts with little to no advance notice to support client needs. The pay rate is $21.64 per hour, paid weekly.

Requirements

• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Have a valid driver's license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Be able to travel required distances.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
