About The Position

As a Security Officer X Ray Threat Detection in West Palm Beach, Florida, you will serve and safeguard clients at a government facility. In the Screener role, you will operate screening equipment, monitor access points, and help identify prohibited items or potential security concerns. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and staff, and help maintain a welcoming, orderly environment. This is a full-time position scheduled Friday through Sunday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The pay rate is $19.85 per hour.

Requirements

Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

X-ray screening experience.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific screening procedures and security policies at a government facility.
Screen individuals and their belongings using assigned screening equipment and established procedures, identifying prohibited or unauthorized items for appropriate follow-up.
Verify identification, credentials, and access authorization before permitting entry to restricted areas, following applicable post orders and escalation protocols.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, notify appropriate personnel, and document activities as required.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized access and report unusual conditions.
