About The Position

As a Security Officer Part Time Access Control Representative in Northampton, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Security Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and maintain a professional presence that helps deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Monitor entry and exit points at a logistics and distribution location, verify credentials and/or delivery documentation, and maintain visitor, vendor, and driver access records.
  • Control access to restricted areas, assist with directing authorized personnel and vehicles, and report access discrepancies or unauthorized-entry attempts according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including business operations, loading areas, parking locations, and perimeter access points, while documenting observations and security-related concerns.
