About The Position

As a Security Officer Visitor Screening in Marion, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a government location, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, and documenting visitor activity. You will remain visible to help deter incidents, communicate professionally with staff and visitors, and support security-related operations through teamwork, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points; verify authorization, credentials, and visitor documentation; and control access in accordance with established post orders.
  • Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and delivery logs; issue and recover authorized access credentials and/or temporary passes as directed.
  • Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; promptly notify appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
