About The Position

As a Security Officer Visitor Checkpoint Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with COLA: DPSS/DHS requirements.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all visitors, staff, and/or vendors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances and exits, verify identification and authorization, and help to control access to restricted areas in accordance with post orders and facility guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting security-related concerns and reporting unusual activity through proper channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, noting access control issues, unsecured entry points, and/or other security-related conditions that may require attention.
  • Assist with visitor processing, sign-in procedures, and movement control while maintaining professional communication with employees, guests, and/or public officials.
