About The Position

As a Security Officer Visitor Checkpoint Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
A tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with COLA: DPSS/DHS requirements.
A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to all visitors, staff, and/or vendors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
Monitor entrances and exits, verify identification and authorization, and help to control access to restricted areas in accordance with post orders and facility guidelines.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting security-related concerns and reporting unusual activity through proper channels.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, noting access control issues, unsecured entry points, and/or other security-related conditions that may require attention.
Assist with visitor processing, sign-in procedures, and movement control while maintaining professional communication with employees, guests, and/or public officials.
