About The Position

As a Security Officer Secure Checkpoint Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer in a government location, helping manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor assigned areas, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism and care. This is a driving post. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with COLA DPSS/DHS requirements.
  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures and supporting approved entry and exit protocols at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances, identification, credentials, and/or visitor logs to help regulate access to restricted areas in accordance with post orders and security-related policies.
  • Respond to incidents, prohibited items, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate personnel and documenting relevant activity.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, access concerns, and/or conditions that may require a response.
  • Support emergency response activities, screening procedures, and/or reporting requirements while maintaining professional communication with site personnel and the public.
