About The Position

As a Security Officer Secure Entry Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with COLA DPSS/DHS requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances, verify identification and authorization, and help to control entry and exit for staff, visitors, contractors, and/or authorized personnel.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related matters as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, and perimeter locations to help to identify unusual activity and/or access concerns.
  • Communicate with site personnel, visitors, and public agency representatives regarding post instructions, visitor processing, and other security-related procedures.
