As an Allied Universal Security Professional in an access control role at a major utilities location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service. Requirements

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A TSA issued TWIC is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Applicants should be comfortable using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials of individuals entering or exiting the premises to help to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Provide customer service by assisting visitors and employees with access-related inquiries and following site-specific procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the location.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation of access control activities and incidents as required by Allied Universal and site-specific policies.
  • Support emergency response activities when appropriate, following all site-specific and Allied Universal procedures.
