Job Description As a Security Officer - Utilities Badge Specialist in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Professional, you will help to deter security-related incidents and manage access control at a utilities location. Your responsibilities include monitoring entry points, conducting routine patrols, and maintaining a visible presence to support a secure environment. You will also deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication, embodying Allied Universal's values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first mindset while protecting critical infrastructure.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
A guard card or license is preferred.
At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Assist with access control procedures at the utility location, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering and exiting the premises.
Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain adherence to site-specific policies.
Provide customer service by assisting visitors, employees, and contractors with inquiries and directions as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and report any irregularities.
Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to company and client procedures.
Collaborate with Allied Universal management and site personnel to address security-related concerns and support overall site operations.
