As a Security Officer Access Control in Lynchburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location, where you will help support access control operations, monitor entry points, verify credentials, and assist with security-related concerns. This role may include routine patrols, visible presence, and professional customer service for employees and visitors. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Meet licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations, if required prior to employment.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific access procedures, screening entry requests, and supporting security-related policies at an industrial location.
  • Monitor entrances, gates, and/or access points, verify credentials and authorizations, and document visitor, vehicle, and delivery activity in required logs and systems.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and emergency personnel when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, production areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations, noting and reporting security-related concerns and access irregularities.
  • Help to deter unauthorized entry, support emergency response activities, and provide clear directions and assistance to people on site while maintaining professional communication.
