The Security Officer plays a critical role in protecting people, property, and assets while delivering exceptional customer service. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment through proactive patrol, monitoring, incident response, and professional interaction with clients, employees, and visitors. Security Officers serve as the front-line representatives of the company and are expected to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and reliability at all times. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Must be at least 21 years of age
Ability to obtain and maintain required security licenses
Must successfully complete a background investigation and drug screening
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
Reliable attendance and dependable transportation
Be capable of performing the duties and responsibilities of a security officer.
Be eligible to obtain and maintain a Kansas City, Missouri Class B Unarmed Security License.
Successfully complete the required KCPD licensing process, including fingerprinting, criminal-history screening, and the required written examination.
Provide the documentation required by KCPD.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in security, military, law enforcement, or customer service
CPR, First Aid, or AED certification
Experience with access control systems and surveillance equipment

Responsibilities

Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to ensure safety and security
Monitor premises, surveillance systems, and access points
Control access by verifying credentials, badges, and visitor authorization
Identify and respond to suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security breaches
Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and incidents
Provide professional, courteous, and helpful assistance to employees, visitors, and clients
Serve as a visible security presence to deter potential threats
Maintain a calm, professional demeanor in all situations
Represent the company’s values and commitment to service excellence
Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident reports
Document security events, violations, and unusual occurrences
Communicate incidents and concerns promptly to supervisors and leadership
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Follow all company policies, procedures, and post orders
Adhere to client-specific requirements and security protocols
Maintain required licenses and certifications
Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and professionalism
