Job Description As a Security Officer Unarmed Site Sentinel in Lido Beach, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer serving a public education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access awareness throughout the site. Requirements
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, students, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor entrances, gates, and common areas, verify permitted access as directed by site policies, and assist with visitor directions and general information.
- Support a professional presence at a government education location by observing daily activity, communicating clearly with school personnel and/or first responders, and following post orders for routine and unusual events.
