As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet students, faculty, staff, and visitors with a people-first approach, communicate clearly, and document activity with integrity. This role is ideal for professionals who bring teamwork, reliability, and a New York State Security Guard License to every shift.

Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response activities as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, residence halls, common areas, and surrounding grounds to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and maintenance concerns; document observations and complete required reports and logs.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus departments and/or public emergency responders as appropriate.
  • Support access control at designated entry points by verifying credentials when required, monitoring visitor flow, and/or enforcing site rules in a professional manner.
