About The Position

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Unit in Piscataway, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, and/or city issued security-related license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and store personnel by following site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document security-related concerns according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including storefronts, common areas, stockroom corridors, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help to deter unauthorized activity, suspicious behavior, and policy violations.
• Support loss prevention and asset protection efforts by reporting unusual activity, assisting with crowd management during busy periods, and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
