About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Specialist in Orlando, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a university location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support students, faculty, staff, and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication while documenting activities using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Have a state, county, or city issued security license, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, contacting campus partners and/or emergency services as directed, and supporting orderly resolution.
  • Monitor access points and campus activity as assigned, including observing for policy violations, assisting with directions, and documenting unusual activity.
  • Complete detailed reports on patrols, incidents, and observations, and communicate timely updates to supervision and/or site contacts per post orders.
