About The Position

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Shopping Mall in Wheaton, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout retail common areas, parking facilities, exterior perimeters, and other assigned locations.
• Monitor for security-related concerns, suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations, and report observations through established site procedures.
• Assist with access control, directions, lost-and-found inquiries, and communication with mall management, law enforcement, and emergency responders as needed.
