As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related issues, and support access control as needed. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and respond to calls for assistance with professionalism. Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and site occupants by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, common spaces, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or policy concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow in accordance with government facility protocols, verifying authorization, observing for prohibited items, and directing individuals to appropriate services.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using verbal de-escalation techniques and requesting assistance from site leadership and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and unusual activity in written logs and reports, and communicate timely updates to supervisors and site representatives.
